Are you looking for an unforgettable adventure and want to leave civilization behind for a few days? Well, you’ve come to the right place! You and your best riding buddies can choose between 5 different bikepacking trip options for the ultimate backcountry experience. You and your crew can stick to the gravel roads, or if you want a little extra adrenaline, add on the single-track options. Wanna know the best part? After a hard day of riding, you’ll have a comfy hut waiting for you! Our backcountry huts are stocked with everything you need to rest and refuel during your epic journey.

Telluride to Moab

Telluride to Moab, or the shorter Telluride to Gateway, was our first hut-to-hut bikepacking route. Ride up and over the famous Last Dollar Pass, through the pines and aspens on the Uncompahgre Plateau, past the breathtaking red rock of Gateway, and then up and over the La Sals to your final destination, Moab. This trip isn’t for the faint of heart, but it is the easier of the two different MTB routes we offer. This route is a great option for groups with mixed rider abilities. All of your sweat equity will pay off as you relax and recover in our fully stocked huts.

Durango to Moab

Durango to Moab, or the shorter Durango to Paradox, is the tougher of our two MTB routes. Start at Purgatory Resort or opt for the single-track option and ride part of the world-renowned Colorado Trail. Climb up to over 12,500’ on the first day. Continue on through the high country, drop into the desert, and ride past the pinons and sagebrush, take in the totally underrated view of the Dolores, hike a bike down the gnarliest trail you’ve ever seen, ride up and over the La Sals and then finish down the infamous Whole Enchilada. This route is difficult and not recommended for beginners, but includes some “All-time Classic Single Track” days. Make sure you have plenty of grit as you could get snowed on, get stuck in some serious mud, or have to deal with temps over 100.

The Tour of the Canyons

The Tour of the Canyons Gravel Grinder ride will take you through the wildest canyon country of Colorado and Utah. Start the first day with some extra mileage and ride through the unforgettable Colorado Monument. Ride past the Unaweep Canyon and towards the amazing red rock of Gateway, Colorado; continue on by the historic Hanging Flume, past the confluence of the San Miguel and Dolores rivers, up, up, up into the La Sals, and then down some fun gravel roads into the bike mecca of Moab. This trip is short and sweet and can be a great test run adventure for your longer summer trips.

Not sure what experience is right for your group? Our expert staff can point you in the right direction. We have trips that are appropriate for everyone (as long as you are willing to put in some serious training), from newbies to the most seasoned riders.

The huts are cozy, one-room structures with everything you need and nothing more. You’ll find bunk beds, sleeping pads and sleeping bags, a wood stove, a propane cooktop, and fuel, all the pots, pans, and utensils you need to prepare meals, 5-gallon water jugs, fresh, canned, and dry good foods, and a separate outhouse. All you need is your bike, repair kit, first aid kit, clothing, and sleeping bag liner.
