Can I drive to any of the hiking huts and use them as a base camp?
Yes. With 4×4 and/or a high clearance vehicle you can drive to the Blue Lakes and Burn Huts.

The hiking huts are about 4.5 to 8.5 miles apart.
You will get your water from local springs, streams, and ponds near the huts. You will need to decide what type of water purification works best for your group and treat water accordingly. For most people who are not allergic to shellfish, we recommend using iodine tablets as they are light,effective, and can’t break.
You will need to bring your food, means to purify water (iodine, filter, or UV light stick), and appropriate clothing for the weather to the hiking huts.
